I love the Lunar New Years celebrations! I was in Beijing for the year of the Tiger New Years celebration and we ate tons of food (I love sweet niangao :3) and set off so many fireworks that there was not a moment of quietness or darkness that night! It was an amazing trip and I would love to celebrate New Years with my family to show them how it's done :) I am away and I, sadly, have no place to purchase sweet fish-shaped niangao but I will wear my red dragon shirt (it even says lucky on it, albeit in English) I also have made it a tradition for myself to listen to Andy Lao's 'Gong Xi Fa Cai' song every year so that shall be fun :) I have a

I personally have a great fear of earthquakes, even the smallest ones that you can barely feel. It seems like many people where I live see them as a kind of amusement as they happen so often. This past week have been very tough for me with midterms and finals coming up along with family issues and tragedies. Then I wake up this morning to see that my mother has sent me a text message saying my brother, who has been living in Japan for the past six or so years is okay. I didn't know what she was talking about but it is natural to assume the worse, especially with all of the bad things that have happened these past two weeks. He lives in Tokyo
